On Friday, the day started of with Junior Team Men's Sabre. Gabe Braun , Alex Fosado, and David Rule lost a very close match 44-45 to Medeo Fencing Club in the round of 16 to finish 11th place.
In the afternoon, Sofie Simontov and and Abigail Swallow competed in the Junior Women's Foil and Cadet Women's Sabre, respectively. Sofie finished her pool 4-2 with a 4-5 loss to Danielle Ferdon who went on to finish 5th in the event. Sofie won her first DE bout handily 15-1, but lost her round of 64 bout and finished 46th. Abigail finished her pool 2-4 and went on to finish 88th.
On Saturday, the Junior Men's Sabre fencers competed in their individual event. In the pools, Alex finished 3-3, David finished 1-5, and Gabe finished 2-4. After tight DE bouts all around, Alex placed 91st, David placed 128th, and Gabe placed 137th.
Sunday brought out Zach Dewitt for the Cadet Men's Epee event. He finished his pool 1-5 with two 4-5 losses. He just needed one more touch to make the cut to directly elimination! Zach tied for 209th.
Meanwhile, Abigail was fencing Junior Women's Sabre. She finished her pool with a 1-5 record. In direct elimination Abigail put up a fight against eventual silver medalist Marta Lasota, but eventually went out to finish 112th.
Later that day, Sofie got started in Cadet Women's Foil. She finished her pool 4-2, and went on to place 72nd.
On Monday, it was all about Cadet Men's Sabre. Sebastian Grathwol-Sear finished 1-5 in the pool round. David finished 4-2, Tariq Karam finished 2-4, and Alex finished 4-2. In direct elimination, Tariq closed out his first match 15-11, but lost in the round to make the top 64 12-15 to finish tied for 112th. David had a first round bye, but also lost his 128 bout to finish 79th. Alex lost his match in the same round by a single touch 14-15 and finished 83rd.
