NOTICE TO THE MEMBERSHIP

As has been long promised, Salle Auriol Seattle will be expanding our space over the next several months.  After investigating numerous options, our solution is to relocate in the same building we currently occupy.  This relocation will occur in two stages:

Stage 1:  We will be occupying the old Bandua Rua photography studio on the same floor as our current space staring August 1st.  This new space can accommodate 12 strips with full run off on the ends, has three restrooms, a kitchen and a shower. We will still have access to our current space for non-fencing activities, including access to lockers, equipment, etc.

Stage 2:  We will also take over the ground floor space below the Banda Rua space, currently occupied by Nu Motion.  Nu Motion will be moving to a new location soon and we will build out that space when it is available.  This space has two restrooms and handicap access; we are still determining the final layout of that space but it will also provide many fencing strips.  We are also planning on providing drive through drop off capability in the parking area under the building.

These combined spaces will give us almost 13,500 square feet of space.  The board does not anticipate any increase in dues or program fees at this time; we are also returning to our normal operating schedule by the end of August, including full availability of the club on the weekends.

Since this is a staged solution and we have only recently come to agreement on this solution with the building owners, we ask for your flexibility and understanding as the new Salle Auriol Seattle evolves.  The initial space will start with 8 strips but rapidly expand to 12 strips as tenant improvements are completed during August. Our expansion to the ground floor is dependant on Nu Motion vacating and that date is still pending; we anticipate tenant improvements in that space to be completed in less than two months from the date of initial occupancy.

This is an exciting new chapter in our club’s history.  I look forward to sharing this continuing adventure with you!

Best regards,

Marshall Hibnes
