Fencing Camps

summer camps, June 17 - August 22, 2025

Registration for 2025 summer camps will open online on January 28th. Schedule and more information will be posted by January 24, at the latest.

There will be camps every week. Morning only camps are 9:00 - 12:00, afternoon only camps are 1:00 - 4:00, all day camps are 9:00 - 4:00. The are 3 age range groups and students of certain ages may fit into more than one category:

Age 8 - 12, morning only offered almost every week. All day offered for 3 weeks.
Age 10 - 13, offered for 2 weeks
Age 12 - 16, offered for 3 weeks, afternoon only (1:00 - 4:00 pm)

We teach all 3 types of Olympic fencing: epee, foil, saber and focus on one each week at camp. There is no ‘best’ one to start with and most skills learned in one translate to the others. We encourage students to take multiple weeks of camp and try more than one type especially if they are interested in pursuing our ongoing fencing classes after camp.  Summer camp is the time of year with the most opportunity for kids with no experience to try fencing.

Students learn footwork, bladework and fencing tactics in a fun and safe environment. In addition to drills and bouting they will participate in a variety of fencing activities and games to re-enforce the actions and strategies of fencing and to increase co-ordination and balance. This is an active camp, but fencing is not solely a physical sport and many kids enjoy the metal challenge it also has to offer.

No prior fencing experience is necessary, except for the advanced camps. All fencing equipment is provided and assigned to each student, not shared.
